Creekside Center for Rehabilitation and Healing - Infection Control NurseCreekside Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is looking for a dedicated Infection Control Nurse to join our team. TOP PAY. MONDAY-FRIDAY. The Infection control nurse evaluates the quality of resident care and outcomes as they relate to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI) in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Collects, prepares, and analyzes HAI data. Presents infection data and makes recommendations for actions. Monitors associate compliance with infection control standards through use of barriers and infection prevention measures. Prepares and presents education for the staff, residents, and families. Infection control nurse Serves as a resource to all departments and personnel.Requirements / Qualifications :Must possess a nursing diploma (associates or bachelors degree in nursing).Must be currently licensed/registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active nursing license in good standing throughout employment.Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.Must have applicable certifications or training per State requirements (e.g., Certified TB Nurse).Specific Job Requirements / DutiesServes as designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDCServes as the on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, in accordance with current CDC recommendationsMaintains a current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practicesPerforms work within the scope of his/her licenseMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of Infection Prevention and Control practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Infection Prevention and Control ProgramMust perform proficiently in all applicable competency areasMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationEducation1. Communicates educational needs of staff to staff development coordinator and supervisors.2. Participates in the orientation of new employees.3. Provides instruction to staff as needed.4. Provides education to residents and families.5. Attends continuing education programs to maintain competency and improve knowledge and skills.Staff Care1. Monitors and evaluates units staff efficiency; identifies inefficiencies and plans strategies to improve inefficiencies.2. Monitors staff stress levels, and implements processes to maintain healthy levels.3. Educates staff in self care and general health practices.4. Supports practices that promote holistic health of staff.5. Empowers frontline staff to contribute to resident care planning.6.
